chinensis Benth was closely related to Ocimum basilicum, indicating that there was a certain correlation between the CUB of the chloroplast gene and the genetic relationship of plant species. Overall, the study on the CUB of chloroplast genome laid a basis for genetic modification and phylogenetic research of M. chinensis Benth chloroplast genome. The adverse effect of tetracycline antibiotics on microbial activity is one of the serious risks for the biologic wastewater treatment process. The microbial fuel cells (MFCs) are a promising technology for wastewater treatment and renewable power generation process. For this reason, the investigation of the inhibition effect of the tetracyclines on the MFCs is essential for reducing damage on the environment. This paper focused on the performance of MFCs under different antibiotic concentrations at the range of 0.25-50 mg/L. The power generation performance, microbial community and biofilm characteristics (morphology, resistance and viability) of MFCs were investigated in detail. The results indicated that the increase in the antibiotic concentration significantly affected the MFC performance and microbial community. A modified non-competitive inhibition model was used to predict the inhibition effect of tetracycline antibiotics on the MFCs.To evaluate the association between the severity and extent of periodontitis and arterial stiffness using the cardio-ankle vascular index (CAVI).
A cross-sectional study of 2888 Electricity Generation Authority of Thailand (EGAT) employees aged 44-78 years was conducted. The severity of periodontitis was evaluated based on mean clinical attachment level (CAL). The percentage of sites with CAL ? 5 mm was used to divide the extent of periodontitis into healthy (0%), localized (> 0-< 30%), and generalized (? 30%). The CAVI value, a novel blood pressure-independent arterial stiffness parameter, was analyzed as both continuous and categorical data (low < 9 or high ? 9). Regression analysis was used to estimate the level of association.
The participants demonstrated a mean CAL, % sites with CAL ? 5 mm, and a CAVI value of 3.2 ± 1.2 mm, 16.0 ± 20.8%, and 8.24 ± 1.12, respectively. Higher mean CAVI was observed with greater mean CAL and % sites with CAL ? 5 mm. The mean CAVI of the healthy, localized, and generalized periodontitis groups were 8.01 ± 1.11, 8.22 ± 1.12, and 8.51 ± 1.04, respectively (p < 0.01). Linear and logistic regression analysis demonstrated a significant relationship between CAVI and all periodontal variables with β = 0.004-0.17 and OR = 1.01-1.58, respectively.
There is a significant dose-dependent association between the severity and extent of periodontitis and arterial stiffness measured by CAVI in Thai adults.
Preventing arterial stiffness, an early sign of cardiovascular events, by controlling the emerging risk factors, such as periodontitis, might have a high impact on health promotion.

A total of 230 patients underwent non-drainage TKA using CSEA with fentanyl were randomized into UC and non-UC groups (115 patients each, 115 knees each). Incidences of POUR, clinical outcomes (intraoperative intravenous fluid, operative time, whole blood loss, urinary tract infection (UTI), and length of stay) were evaluated after the operation, while range of motion (ROM) and Knee society score (KSS) were evaluated 3- and 6-month postoperatively.
Incidences of POUR and other perioperative and postoperative clinical outcomes between the two groups were not significantly different. ROM and KSS at 3- and 6-month postoperatively revealed no significant differences between the groups.
Given no significant difference in POUR incidence, clinical outcomes and knee scores and functions, catheterization in non-drainage TKA under CSEA with a short-acting opioid might not be necessary.

Previous studies have indicated the impact of meteorological factors and mumps, but findings vary across different regions with limited evidence to inform local public health responses. We aim to examine the impacts of meteorological variables on mumps in Jinan, a temperate city of China, and explore the interactions of temperature with humidity or wind speed. Weekly meteorological data and notified cases of mumps in Jinan were collected for 2014-2018. Regression analyses using the generalized additive model were performed with considerations of multicollinearity, lag effects, school holidays, long-term trend, and seasonality. A stratification model was applied to investigate the interaction. https://www.selleckchem.com/ We found a non-linear relationship between weekly mean temperature and the number of cases. Between 1.2 and 24.5 °C, the excess risk (ER) of mumps for a 1 °C increase in weekly mean temperature was 3.08% (95% CI 1.32 to 4.87%) at 0-week lag. The lagged effects could last for 3 weeks. There were interactions between mean temperature and relative humidity or wind speed. The effect of mean temperature was enhanced in days with low relative humidity or high wind speed. This study suggests that temperature is positively associated with mumps cases with thresholds in the temperate city of China, and the effect can be modified by relative humidity and wind speed and is independent of vaccine coverage. Findings could be integrated into current early warning systems of mumps in order to protect people's health from the risk of changing climate.
